James Bond 23 year 2012

Daniel Craig could return as 007 as soon as next summer, following reports the latest James Bond film is back on track.Sam Mendes has pulled out of negotiations to direct futuristic thriller The Hunger Games because MGM are ready to move forward with production on Bond 23, and shooting could begin by late summer or early autumn 2011, Deadline Hollywood reports. The latest instalment from the top British spy was due to begin shooting this year, for release in 2011, directed by Sam and with Daniel returning as 007 for the third time. But the movie was put on indefinite hold, with EON Productions blaming the financial difficulties of MGM studios, which is reported to have a 3.7 billion-dollar

(£2.4 billion) debt.

MGM announced this week that its lenders have agreed to extend the company’s debt repayment period until October 29, 2010.

”The lenders took this action in support of the company’s ongoing efforts to evaluate long-term strategic alternatives to maximize value for its stakeholders. MGM appreciates the continued support of its lender group throughout this process,” it said.

The studio, which also has a stake in the forthcoming Hobbit movie, is going through a pre-packaged bankruptcy before Spyglass takes over.

Sir Sean Connery James Bond Failed to Show Up in Spanish Court

18 Okt

Sir Sean Connery failed to appear at a Spanish court on Friday, October 15 after a judge summoned him to testify as part of a money-laundering investigation.

The actor and his wife Micheline were asked to take to the stand, but a letter from Connery explained he could not travel to Spainbecause of his age and unspecified health problems.

The former ”James Bond” star and his wife were named in the probe stemming from the 1998 sale of their beachfront mansion near Marbella. The couple made $8.4 million in the sale but allegedly failed to pay $2 million to the local authority. The property was knocked down to allow for a 72-apartment complex to be built, although planning permission only allowed for five houses to be constructed on the site. The condominiums were said to have yielded a $75 million profit.

A court official confirms to the Associated Press that the judge will make a decision next week about how to continue with the case. Connery and Micheline, who have denied allegations of money laundering, lived in Spain from the 1970s to the 1990s but now reside in the Bahamas.
