Mystery HELP US FIND IAN FLEMING’S GOLDEN TYPEWRITER

 On this day in Bond history, 1908, Ian Fleming, the creator of James Bond was born in London. We are keen to track down the owner of the typewriter that Ian Fleming used when writing many of the original James Bond adventures. Fleming bought the gold-plated Royal Quiet Deluxe Portable typewriter from a New York dealer in 1952. It appears in many of the photographs showing Fleming working at his GoldenEye home in Jamaica. The 1947 model typewriter was bought at auction in 1995 by an anonymous bidder and to this day its whereabouts remain unknown.

James Bond Trades in his Martini for a $45 million Heineken

Producers behind the next Bond movie Skyfall just inked a $45 million deal with Heineken to promote the brand which means instead of a vodka martini James Bond will be asking for a Heineken.

The news has gotten more than a few people riled up namely the guy who played Bond in 1969 George Lazenby. Lazenby says replacing the iconic James Bond drink breaks a sacred tradition and adds, “It’s not the best beer out there, either.”

So in the upcoming Skyfall instead of a vodka martini, shaken, not stirred, expect Daniel Craig to pop his collar and say, “Yo, broski! Pass me a Heiny!”

James Bond actor George Lazenby slams ‘Skyfall’ Heineken advertising deal

Ever since it was announced that the producers for the next James Bond film, Skyfall, signed a product placement deal with Heineken, fans have been criticizing it. Many fear that it could mean that Bond won’t be ordering his famous ‘shaken, not stirred’ martini in the film. George Lazenby, who played Bond in 1969’s On Her Majesty’s Service, has joined the critics.

In an interview with TMZ, Lazenby tells that site that it breaks the sacred tradition that has been a part of Bond’s mythology since Ian Flemming’s novels.

Lazenby also slams Heineken itself. ”It’s not the best beer out there, either,” he says.

He believes that the move shows that producers are more interested in the money than sticking with what fans are used to. He says that it’s disappointing that they will always “go where the money is.”

Daniel Craig, the actor playing Bond in Skyfall, defended the reportedly $45 million advertising deal with Heineken in an interview last month. He told Moviefone at the time that, “We have relationships with a number of companies so that we can make this movie. The simple fact is that, without them, we couldn’t do it. It’s unfortunate but that’s how it is.”

Skyfall, the 23rd Bond film, hits U.S. theaters on Nov. 9, when fans will see just how much influence Heineken had over the production. MGM released the first teaser for the film earlier this week.

A few days ago, the first teaser trailer for the next James Bond, Skyfall, was released

“Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost,” the description of the trailer reads.

This sort of action packed adventured is nothing new to Hollywood, but Bond has never looked so cool – challenging the establishment and fighting for what he believes is right.
