I filmerna möts Bond och Bollinger första gången i Live And Let Die, men deras relation tog fart på riktigt i Moonraker och håller i sig än i dag. I denna episka rymdsaga deklarerar 007 sin preferens för 69:an (även Jaws njuter av en flaska genom att bita av kork och grimma för att komma åt de rara dropparna). I A View To A Kill, identifierar han korrekt en ’75:a. Dalton’s Bond deklarerar en klar preferens för flaggskeppet R.D. (R.D. står för Recetemant Degorcement, en process då flaskans hals fryses med kolsyreis för att binda jästfällning innan man avskiljer den från vinet). Bollinger R.D. tillverkas enbart under de bästa årgångarna och vinet måste varit i kontakt med jästfällningen i minst 7 år. Den litterära James Bond dricker Dom Pérignon första gången i Moonraker, då han dricker två flaskor av ’46:an. I filmerna är Dompan framför allt förknippad med Sean Connerys rollgestaltning av Bond, även om både George Lazenby och Roger Moore har beställt denna prestige-cuvée. I Dr. No stoppar banditen 007 från att använda en ’55:a som tillhygge, Bond utrycker indingerat att han föredrar 53:an. I Goldfinger deklarerar han sin preferens för ’53:an, men han beställer detta till trots en ’55:a i Thunderball. Båda anses som stora år i Champagne (så även ’59:an som han avnjuter i You Only Live Twice). Jag tror nog att man kan bortse från av Bond skulle ogilla ’55:an som årgång, det har nog mer att göra med att han gör detta nedlåtande uttalande för att reta Dr No. En annan fan av ’53:an var Marilyn Monroe. I On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, beställer Bond en ’57som inte bara anses vara ett riktigt uselt år för Champagne, Moët & Chandon har aldrig ens tillverkat någon ’57:a! Snacka om dåligt researche… I The Man with the Golden Gun erbjuds 007, en flaska ’64:a, här ekar hans kommentar från 1962 till Dr. No; “I prefer the ’62 myself.” Båda är visserligen lysande årgångar. I The Spy Who Loved Me anmärker Bond att han kanske missbedömt Stromberg, eftersom “Any man who drinks Dom Perignon ’52 can’t be all bad.”

I filmerna ser vi bara Taittinger vid två tillfällen: From Russia with Love (Red Grant använder den för att lura i Tatiana kloralhydrat) och i 1967 års version av Casino Royale.

Efter att ha smakat av vinet använder 007 skurkens okunnighet om att Mouton Rothschild är en claret för att maskera Wint och Kidd’s riktiga intentioner.

Bond At The BAFTAs

Several members of the ”Skyfall” cast were present at the British Academy Film & Television Awards last night. The evening opened with Bond theme belter Tom Jones performing ”Thunderball”. Remembering the time when he was approached to perform the theme, Jones says: ”I was so thrilled when John Barry and Don Black asked me to do ‘Thunderball’, because Shirley Bassey had just done ‘Goldfinger‘ and Matt Munro had just done ‘From Russia With Love‘. It was great, especially then, because I was a young man in my 20s. I am glad I did it!”

As MI6 previously reported the new Bond girls Naomie Harris and Bérénice Marlohe were on hand to present the outstanding British film award. As usual, the Bond girls were quizzed about their time on set. ”It’s amazing working with Daniel,” Harris says. ”He’s such a hard worker. After shooting he does two hours of training. Incredible and an inspiration to us both.”

Judi Dench who is reprising her long-standing role as ”M” in the 23rd James Bond adventure, and Ralph Fiennes, who will play an unknown government agent were also in attendance. Fiennes explained to journalists that the ”energy on set is quite low key. It’s very professional, it’s very smooth. It is not like watching a Bond film.” Dench was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in ”My Week with Marilyn”. Fiennes was nominated for Outstanding Debut by a Director for his adaptation of Shakespeare’s ”Coriolanus”.

Which champagne Bollinger Cuvée, RD, La Grande Annee will feature in Bond 23 SKYFALL

Champagne Bollinger has been Bond’s champagne of choice since its first appearance on screen in ‘Live and Let Die’ in 1973, when the Brocolli-Wilson family decided that Bollinger best represented Bond’s impeccable taste.

Our big question is which Bollinger Cuvée will feature – something that might not even be announced until the film is shown.

I think Bollinger’s newest baby, the 2002 La Grande Année, will apear in James Bond SKYFALL.

James Bond and Batman help rescue London developers

Reuters) – Hollywood is helping London developers weather the financial crisis by turning empty offices into film sets, providing cash and publicity for landlords struggling to fill buildings with tenants because of the uncertain economic outlook.

In addition to films and television shows, a growing number of developers are also opening their doors to events like London Fashion Week or temporary retail sites for online companies such as Amazon (AMZN.O), eBay (EBAY.O) and Google (GOOG.O).

Others are planning to cash in on short-term demand from film crews seeking rooftops with panoramic views during the Olympic Games and celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation.

”There has been a sea change in the way landlords deal with empty space since the financial crisis,” said Mark Hughes-Webb, managing director of SPACE-2 Consulting, which finds buildings for shoots and events. ”They are more focused on cashflow as shareholders want to know they are working their assets.”

Developers have struggled to fill a series of striking new buildings meant to attract a wave of tenants: five skyscrapers in central London at varying stages of build have signed one office deal between them.

The office vacancy rate in London’s main financial district was 7 percent in January, double where it stood at the end of 2007, its last low point, data from property consultancy CBRE (CBG.N) show. SPACE-2’s turnover has almost doubled over the same period.

Bond 23 ‘Skyfall’ Will Be First James Bond Film to Receive IMAX Treatment

James Bond’s next foray into bed-hopping, globe-trotting and world-saving will get the IMAX treatment.

”Skyfall,” the latest installment in the blockbuster spy franchise, will debut simultaneously in IMAX theaters when it hits screens next fall — the first Bond film to hit the really big screen format.

To be released in IMAX internationally on Oct. 26, and domestically on Nov. 9, 2012, ”Skyfall” centers on Bond’s efforts to track down and destroy a threat to his boss, M.

Daniel Craig will return for his third romp as 007. Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Judi Dench and Naomie Harris co-star. Sam Mendes (”American Beauty”) directs.

James Bond: Sam Mendes to break silence over ‘Skyfall’ movie

Sam Mendes, the director of the new James Bond film, will post his first Skyfall “videoblog” online tomorrow morning 23/2.

The director will talk about his own childhood fixation with the Bond films in the video which will go online at 7am Wednesday morning.

”The roots of my doing this Bond movie start way before anybody approached me because, like everyone else, I have my own personal relationship with Bond which began when I was I suppose about nine or ten years old. I’ve always been a fan of the movies,” he says in the post.

According to the organisers, the video is exclusive to the official 007 website and is the first in a series of videoblogs about the Skyfall film.

The website currently displays a digital count-down to the release of the film, but tension is hardly mounting. There were 247 days, 7 hours and 16 minutes to go when this article was written, since the film is slated for UK release on Oct 26.

The studio will no doubt keep fans tantalised with a drip by drip release of new Bond material as they aim with this, its 23rd film, to bounce back after bankruptcy. The production of this film was put on hold for months and the last movie earned mixed reviews.
