“It was quite a tricky negotiation to import a tank into Russia,” says production manager, Phil Kohler. “The one we eventually took to Russia was purchased in Wales. It was fully active and had to be decommissioned before we could even think about taking it out of the country. Ironically, we discovered that it had Czechoslavakian writing on it which meant the tank had originated in Russia and had gone to Czechoslavakia, Wales, Leavesden Airfield and back to Russia.”
